The International Court of Justice: organization and competence

Abstract

The main purpose of this article is to present the International Court of Justice by studying its historical background, composition, jurisdiction, procedure and judgments. The article concludes with several considerations in which the author analyses the contribution made by the Court to international law, the features and modalities of which have had their sentences, the effects of them and how they, in the vast majority of cases, have been fulfilled and complied with by the parties.
