Abstract

This work stresses the increasing relevance of studying children discourse, as a valid territory where history and society could be examined. It first reviews a context of audiovisual and literary production where the corpus is located. Then, this work studies three graphic novels trough the relation betweeen text and image, and the construction of a narrative and a perspective, and their documentary aspect. Three Chilean graphic novels adressed to young readers that cover political topics are examined in this work: Al sur de la Alameda, written by Lola Larra and illustrated by Vicente Reinamontes (Ekaré, 2014), Historias Clandestinas (LOM, 2014), illustrated by Ariel Rojas and written by Sol Rojas,  and Las sinaventuras de Jaime Pardo (RIL, 2013), illustrated and written by Vicente Plaza
